Alexander Wang started the trend last Spring in his show. A little late to blog about it, i know, but I am so in love with this hair do. Side braid. It reminds me of Heidi, a farm girl story I used to read over and over again as a kid. I picture it to look perfect with a swishy floral dress, a leather sling bag, and a pair of strappy leather sandals; creating the boho look.
It got to me when Elaine, a classmate, did it. She puts on a white cheese-cloth embroidered top and a loose skirt to accompany it. I love seeing her with the braid :)
I read some articles of how to do it. A lot of hair products needed. Hmmm, not very practical. I did my first attempt on a slightly damp hair after a hair wash and drying. Then I mess it up with my fingers, then start braiding. The key to it is not tying the hairband too tightly at the end of your braid. Make it loose, squeeze the braid to give it a messy texture, and just let the shorter part of your hair falls naturally. Remember, your aim is to look effortless, slightly messy, and laid back.
Voila ! You are ready for a boho-day out ! Perhaps to an art market..or a picnic at the park..or simply to uni, just to boost up your spirit by trying something new.
Because that’s what I do to stay motivated ;)
