I LEFT MY HEART IN MELBOURNE #1
It was 9am in the morning when we were finally done with the 8 hours of excruciatingly painful flight. It was okay, actually..just that I could not sleep and that does not do any good if you have not been sleeping for the past 3 nights. I was..hmm..practically too excited to meet my boy after the long 40 days *blush* Having Michelle as the other anxious travel buddy was the only reason I did not jump out of the plane’s window pane.
After the crazy 3-hour-long of queues (when i put an ‘s’ behind the previous word, trust me, I MEAN IT), we finally managed to breathe Melbourne’s air. Chilly.
Have I told you that we both are EXCITED travelers? We did not waste any time and headed out to the city for some city adventure!
Stepped in a well-known Vietnamese restaurant, Mekong (Ground 241 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000). The beef pho was served in a huge bowl, with tasty clear broth. President Clinton is reported to have had 2 bowls of pho there! The small eatery is always full of people any time of the day. Satisfying authentic Vietnamese at around AUD 9.50 per dish.
The satisfying lunch was enough to fuel the long walks afterwards, helping us learn about the grid road system in the city.
It does not get dark before 9..and sky never gets dark even when the clock ticks to 11, marking the night where I finally could sleep with a light heart :)
